A PRIMARY school teacher has been awarded an MBE after he created a teaching resource about the Equality Act.
Andrew Moffat, who teaches at Parkfield Community School in Saltley has been named on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to Equality and Diversity in Education.
His teaching resource No Outsiders In Our School gives other primary school teachers support in the delivery of the objectives outlined in the Equality Act 2010.
It initially started off life focusing on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) but it soon snowballed to include such things as disabilities, religion and age.
Andrew, from Solihull, said: “I was overjoyed when I found out I had been chosen to receive an MBE for my work because such a huge testament for the work in our schools.”
