Poppy Appeal launches in Solihull

Solihull Editorial 22nd Oct, 2016   0

SOLIHULL Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal has officially been launched – and organisers are hoping for yet another bumper fundraising year.
The borough has raised more than any other area in the region in recent years – collecting well over half a million pounds.
And hopes are high that the people of Solihull will dig deep once again.
Dave Mouzer, Chairman of the Solihull Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal said: “I would like to thank the people of Solihull for their generosity over the years and hope that this year’s appeal will raise the vital funds that are needed to help the people who rely on the Royal British Legion for support.
“Each year an increasing number of people approach the Royal British Legion for help and we work tirelessly to ensure we can offer all the support they and their families need.
“I would encourage all Silhillians to buy and wear a poppy this year.”
Fundraising is a vital ingredient in ensuring the future of the Royal British Legion which is in urgent need of volunteers.
