VOLUNTEERS are needed to help keep Solihull tidy this weekend.
Community groups from across the borough are coming together this weekend to take part in Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean that runs throughout March.
Clean and Green have organised the event and is asking anyone interested to meet them at the Asda in Chelmsley Wood at 10am on Saturday (March 16).
Paul Sultana the founder Clean and Green said: “We anticipate landscaping, planting, graffiti removal and even a bit of painting as well as litter picking and fly-tipping removal.
“Over 30 volunteers expected and anticipate over 100 bags of rubbish will be collected, as well as numerous fly tips, graffiti, street hazards will be reported, all adding to a cleaner, safer and more pleasant environment for all
“Events are always fun and not to be seen as a chore, we have a laugh and socialise whilst doing this, some volunteers have said it has helped with anxiety, loneliness and wellbeing.”
All equipment and training will be provided.
