Poor weather not affecting entries for Knowle Run Fun

Solihull Editorial 11th Apr, 2018   0

RAIN, snow and ice have failed to dampen spirits as entries are said to be pouring in for the 35th Knowle Fun Run.

At this year’s Knowle and Dorridge Lions organised event on May 20 runners of all ages will be able to choose between completing 10k over two extended laps or 5k one lap starting at Arden Academy.

This year the Lions have adopted two partner charities – Headway Birmingham and Solihull, the brain injuries charity and Breast Cancer Haven in Solihull.

The Lions will retain half of the proceeds to spend on local causes.

As well as individual and team competitions over both distances, there will be a prize for a Royal wedding themed fancy dress winner and the usual Kidsruns for those in years one to four.

Richard said: “The bad weather so far this year does seem to have reduced the numbers running around local roads, but not affected the numbers entering our fun run.

“Runners can be assured that every pound of their entry fee and any sponsorship they raise will go to the fun run charities.

“We hope the weather will pick up soon to encourage the casual runners to get fit for this year’s fun runs.”
