Polls open for PCC's Youth Commissioners vote

Sarah Mason 30th Oct, 2025   0

THE POLLS are open for young people across the West Midlands to vote for the Youth Commissioners.

This is a chance for youngsters to have their say and help shape who will represent them, and the area they live in, in holding the police to account.

The Youth Commissioners’ role will be to advise the Police and Crime Commissioner on issues affecting young people across the region, as well as campaigning for change and getting a much closer look at the role of the police.

The election follows an extensive shortlisting process, with scores of young people applying to represent their peers.

A total of 16 Youth Commissioners will be elected across the region, representing Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Any young person aged 11-18, living in the West Midlands, will be able to cast their vote.

West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said: “Voting is now open for my next latest intake of Youth Commissioners, allowing our young people to have their say on who represents them.

“The Youth Commissioners play a crucial role in helping me keep young people safe. They will support me, by keeping me informed about the concerns and views of their generation.”

To vote visit the PCC’s website.

Voting will close on November 6.
