ROAD SAFETY priority arrests and community engagement were in action by Solihull neighbourhood police teams.
The Smith’s Wood, Kingshurst and Castle Bromwich team seized three vehicles including two cars and a moped.
The two cars were confirmed as having no insurance, while the moped was confirmed as having been stolen in London in 2023.
A motorbike was also recovered by the Shirley neighbourhood team, who picked it up just a few hours after it was stolen from a nearby address.
More vehicles were seized, including a van by the Chelmsley Wood team which had been found without tax, and a car seized in Kingshurst having been stolen a few days earlier in Birmingham.
Officers from the Smith’s Wood team also joined up with one of their ward councillors for a community speed watch, while the Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton and Silhull team carried out high visibility patrols in Ulverley Crescent, Ulverley Green Road and Reservoir Road after concerns around vehicle crime.
The Shirley team also carried out patrols of the Berry Maud Lane estate, while Smith’s Wood officers arrested a man on suspicion of 11 shop thefts in the area.
Speedwatch patrols were also held across the borough, including in Alderbrook Road, where the St Alphege team checked 144 cars with nine caught speeding.
