DETECTIVES have opened an investigation following the death of a girl in Solihull.
A man and a woman have been arrested, as police look into the circumstances surrounding the death of a three-year-old girl.
Officers were called to an address in Kingshurst on Sunday (August 9), responding to reports a child had died.
West Midlands Police since confirmed a 21-year-old woman and a man of the same age were detained.
A spokesman for the force said: “We were called to an address on Stonebridge Crescent, Kingshurst , by paramedics on Sunday morning (August 9) to reports that a girl aged three had died.
“An investigation has begun into the circumstances of the death.
“A woman aged 21 has been arrested on suspicion of wilful neglect of a child, and a man of the same age was held on suspicion of wilful ill-treatment of a child.
“Both have been released on bail while the investigation continues.”
Police added they have yet to charge anyone in connection with the investigation.
