Police on hunt for child sex offender believed to be hiding near region's canals

POLICE are hunting for a child sex offender who could be on the run hiding out in Warwickshire or on the region’s canals.

Michael Crabb is wanted by police after being released from prison on licence in March and breaching license conditions.

The 53-year-old was last seen in Middlesex but has links with Warwickshire and the canal system and has in the past sought refuge on barges and may therefore travel throughout the country.

Crabb breached conditions which were imposed on him following his conviction and subsequent nine year prison sentence for child sex offences.

He has breached these conditions by failing to notify a change of address and is now wanted on a recall to prison.

The Metropolitan Police urge that anyone who sees Crabb contacts the force on 999 immediately, and does not approach him.

Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact detectives at Wandsworth Borough Manhunt team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
