Police dogs out in force to help with arrests

WEST Midlands Police dogs has their paws on the beat over the weekend and assisted with six arrests.

PD Chaos, PD Gus, PD Zaff, PD Snow and PD Jack helped their handles during incidents across the region including one in Radford and Chelmsley Wood.

PD Jack helped PC O’Riordan to locate potential evidence following a break-in of business premises in Wallace Road, Coventry, having tracked through numerous alleyways.

Meanwhile, PD Gus assisted PC King after two men were seen breaking into cars in Chelmsley Wood and one suspect was detained after trying to make off.

West Midlands Police said: “Our police dogs are a vital part of our policing family.




“Over the last 12 months our dogs have been involved in hundreds of arrests and attended over 6,000 incidents to protect the public.

“We are one of five police forces that breed our own dogs and supply dogs to other police forces and agencies, including the National Crime Agency, Ministry of Justice and the Metropolitan Police Service.”
