POLICE are attempting to trace three men caught on CCTV stealing a car in Shirley.

Footage shows the men on what West Midlands Police described as a stolen moped, threatening the owner of a Red Ford Fiesta.

Police have issued images in the hope the attackers might be recognised from their clothing.

The incident took place on Newborough Road, Shirley.

The owner of the vehicle was unhurt.

The car was recovered later that day in Moseley, Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said: “On May 5 at 1.35pm three males on a stolen moped have attended 46 Newborough Road, Shirley and have stolen a red Ford Fiesta.

“Threats were made to the owner of the vehicle but thankfully they were not hurt.

“The car was recovered a short while later from Pensby Close, Moseley.

“Although the images do not show the offenders clearly you may recognise the clothing.”
