Solihull Editorial 6th May, 2020   0

POLICE are probing an incident when a child was narrowly missed by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Castle Bromwich.

Officers from West Midlands Police’s specialist Road Harm Reduction Team have spoken to the youngster’s mother to get more details following the incident at 6.30pm on Monday evening on Green Lane.

The police are keen to track down the driver and prosecute and have appealed anyone with phone or dash cam footage to come forward.

Sgt Jon Butler said: “This was an appalling piece of driving at a location where pedestrians are clearly vulnerable.

“Thankfully, no one was injured on this occasion, but safety of road users is our team’s priority and we’ll gather all available evidence with a view to bringing this matter before court.”

Footage can be e-mailed to [email protected] and anyone with other footage of dangerous driving in the region can upload it to https://secureform.nextbase.co.uk/
