AVID runners are getting their trainers on to take on a 24-hour treadmill challenge.

The presenters of Chasing The Finish, a Solihull-based running podcast and YouTube channel, Ben Blakeman, Jake Ramsey and Mike Duffy will be raising funds for four mental health charities.

The group are aiming to raise £1,250 which will allow them to compete in a charity football tournament at Watford FC’s home ground, Vicarage Road Stadium on May 9.

Playing there has been Mike’s dream, who has been a boyhood fan, despite being born and raised in Solihull.

The money raised at the event is said to be split and sent to four mental health charities -something the podcast is very open around, often talking about the impact running can have on your mental health.

To reach the target the trio will be heading to the Radisson Blu Hotel in the centre of Birmingham on March 21 and running for 24 from 2pm.

The three said: “We’re taking on a 24 hour treadmill challenge between the three of us.

“There’ll be no stopping of the clock and we’ll be trying to cover as much distance as possible and rotating the miles between the three of us.”

The challenge will also be streamed onto the group’s YouTube channel.
