Solihull Editorial 19th Apr, 2022   0

POLICE are appealing for information after a serious collision involving two cars on the Stratford Road, Shirley on Sunday, April 17.

A Ford Fiesta ST was involved in a crash with a BMW M3 at about 6.25pm.

A 40-year-old passenger from the Fiesta ST was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, he has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition.

Both drivers stayed at the scene, but the driver of the ST – a 36-year-old man, was arrested by officers on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.

Another two passengers, one from each car, were not seriously injured.

Police have already spoken to some witnesses but need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.

They are particularly keen on receiving any dash cam footage to understand the full circumstances.
