Plans unveiled for 110 new homes in Knowle

Solihull Editorial 14th Aug, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

NEW PLANS to build 110 homes in Knowle have been unveiled.

The proposal, by Taylor Wimpey Midland on behalf of land owner the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), is for land to the north of the Middlefield Estate (pictured) which has been allocated for new homes as part of Solihull’s Local Plan.

The development, off Grove Road, will include a mix of private and affordable housing.

Two public exhibitions are taking place for people to inspect the proposal, speak to the developers and planning experts and have their say.

Over 3,000 local residents have already been invited to the exhibitions, which will take place at The Greswolde Arms Hotel on Tuesday, August 25 from 3pm to 8pm and on Tuesday, September 8 from 3pm to 8pm.

Taylor Wimpey says it is committed to engaging with the local community regarding its plans for Knowle and

has also recently offered community representatives, including the Knowle Society, the opportunity to

meet with the project team to discuss its current proposals.

Guy Bicknell, Senior Land Manager, Taylor Wimpey Midlands added: “We hope that local people are able

to attend our forthcoming public exhibitions, which will offer the opportunity for the local community to

give us their feedback, which will be fully considered before our plans are finalised.

“We are keen to bring forward a scheme that positively contributes to the special character of Knowle, whilst also improving local housing choice. Our proposals will deliver a broad mix of new homes to cater for the needs of first time buyers and families as well as local people hoping to downsize.”

Anyone unable to attend the exhibitions can call 0800 298 7040 for more information or view the plans online at:  www.taylorwimpey.com/middlefield-avenue-knowle where further details about the proposals will be available to view from August 25.
