Plans to increase pupil numbers at Tudor Grange Academy

Solihull Editorial 28th Jun, 2017   0

A MEETING is set to be held on Monday (July 3) over plans to increase the number of pupils at Tudor Grange Academy.

The Dingle Lane school wants to increase its Published Admission Number (PAN) by 150 pupils over a five-year period to meet a request from Solihull Council to provide more places.

The proposed expansion is in response to a request from Solihull Local Authority to provide more school places for the increasing number of children due to apply for secondary school places in the coming years in the borough.

The current capacity of the Academy is currently 1,500 and it is proposed that this will be expanded to 1,650 to enable admission of additional pupils.

The school said it does not intend to make any amendments to its current admissions policy and it is simply proposing the creation of more school places at the Academy.

Building works would be required for the Academy to expand and the school will be consulting on the enlargement of the buildings within the Academy site.

Anyone wishing to attend the meeting which starts at 6.30pm in the Oak Hall at Tudor Grange Academy should email [email protected].

The consultation runs until noon on July 19.
