PLANS for recruitment at The Sixth Form College, Solihull, are well underway as the education site prepares for its annual Open Day on Saturday (October 8).

Prospective students and parents will be able to learn about the 43 courses available at the College as well as the enrichment opportunities, facilities and support services on offer.

The college will be open from 9.30am until 3.30pm with a final entry time of 2.30pm – pre-registrations for the event are now being accepted.

All curriculum areas will be staffed at Open Day, enabling visitors to meet teachers and students from all courses.

Specialist staff in careers, additional learning support and academic coaching will also be available to tell students and parents about the support offered to students during their time at the College.

In addition, representatives from the Universities of Birmingham, Leicester and Warwick will also be present for those with higher education in mind.

As well as the Open Day, the College will also be hosting an Open Evening on Thursday (November 10), providing a further opportunity for potential students and their parents to visit the site.

College Principal Paul Ashdown said: “The specialist academies the College provide are very exciting for students.

“They provide young people with the opportunity to go on visits and trips, hear from visiting speakers, undertake exciting work experience placements and get support in their applications to university.”
