FOODIES and families flocked to Solihull last weekend for the highly-anticipated Food Festival.
As the autumn weather swept into the borough festival goers kept warm with sizzling street food, live music and sell-out cookery shows that brought Mell Square and Touchwood to life.
The three-day event from October 17 to 19 celebrated global flavours, with Michelin-starred chefs Glynn Purnell and Aktar Islam attending.
Festival visitors had a taste of the world through almost 100 continental food and drink stalls, live chef question sessions, themed entertainment, and a large presence from Travelbag – who have a shop on Drury Lane in Mell Square – alongside the Singapore Tourist Board.
Melanie Palmer, chief executive of Solihull BID, said: “We are thrilled to bring the community together once again for this year’s Food Festival.
“Food has a special way of uniting people and our event is all about celebrating talented chefs , diverse flavours, and family-friendly activities.”
