A PETRIFIED mother and her young daughter have cheated death after a careless driver jumped a red-light and narrowly missed the pair at a pelican crossing in Hall Green.

The incident – captured on a fellow motorists’ dash cam – shows the mother pulling back and clutching her daughter when a grey Nissan Micra shot through a red-light stopping them in their tracks.

The incident happened on June 6 at 12.15pm on the Stratford Road near the Robin Hood Island.

Hall Green Neighbourhood Policing Unit, Sgt Danny Cooke said: “Regarding the video filmed on 6 June, we have not received any complaints regarding this incident and would be grateful for any information leading to the identity of the woman, child and the offending vehicle and driver.

“Speeding and driver behaviour is currently a priority for Hall Green Ward and we conduct speeding enforcement operations weekly.

” We are constantly educating drivers as to the dangers of speeding and to be more aware of their surroundings.
