Pensioner dies following collision with Ford Fiesta

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 74-year-old man died after being hit by a car in the centre of Solihull.

The incident took place just after midday on Saturday, August 22 on the Warwick Road near to the St Johns Hotel and saw the pensioner collide with a Ford Fiesta.

The 74-year-old victim, who was staying with family locally, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, where he sadly passed away overnight.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services attended the scene and now collision investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to an officer.




The driver of the Ford Fiesta is assisting officers with the inquiry.
