WEST Midlands Police has welcomed its latest paw-some recruits.
Lando, Lewis, George, Maria, Susie, Silver, Button, Jackie and Olive make up the force’s Silverstone litter.
The nine Malinois puppies have been named in tribute to the legends of British motorsport — past, present and future.
West Midlands Police said: “From world champions to pioneering women in motorsport, these names represent speed, strength and spirit — all qualities we hope these pups will grow into as future police dogs.
“They’ll soon be heading to temporary homes with our amazing volunteer puppy walkers, who help lay the foundations for the vital work our dogs go on to do.
“We can’t thank our volunteers enough — their support is what helps turn these playful pups into highly skilled working dogs.
“From the roar of the racetrack to the call of duty, this litter is already on the right track.”
