Pair charged as police officers are threatened with gun in Marston Green

TWO men have been charged after police officers were threatened with a gun when they stopped a car in Marston Green.

The incident happened in The Radleys in the early hours of last Monday.

After threatening the officers, the car was driven off.

Following enquiries, two men were arrested and charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Andrew Beckett, aged 36, from Solihull, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday where he was remanded to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on March 22.

Anthony Briscoe, aged 37, from Birmingham, appeared before magistrates on Saturday and was released on bail. He will also appear at Birmingham Crown Court on March 22.




West Midlands Police is currently running Operation Target in response to serious and organised crime.

A spokesperson said: “We are specifically working to identify criminals involved in serious organised crime and bring them to justice, while preventing people from falling victim to some of their traumatic or harmful crimes.”
