DESPITE the threat of bad weather over 200 people helped raise much needed funds for cancer nursing charities at Packington Hall.
Over £1,550 was raised at the Meriden manor house for the National Garden Scheme which supports Marie Curie, Hospice UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Lady Guernsey said: “We were really pleased with the turnout especially considering the weather and we were most grateful to those who braved the thunder and rain storms to come and see us. The garden was in full bloom and looking wonderful.”
Visitors had the chance to see the newly restored walled garden with bespoke oak fruit cage and cutting garden and where a huge variety of vegetables is grown for Lord and Lady Guernsey’s and to provide veg boxes for staff and tenants.
