A CHELMSLEY WOOD opticians organised a fundraising day, raising £142 for Age UK Solihull.

Staff at Specsavers at 2-4 Greenwood Square dedicated the day to raising funds for Age UK Solihull, a charity that offers support, care and companionship for older people.

The team organised a raffle with lots of prizes up for grabs, including football tickets and bowling vouchers, with ticket strips sold for a suggested donation of 50p. Customers could also buy sweet treats from a cake sale, or guess the name of a toy bunny with all proceeds going towards the charity.

Sukhi Drake, store director at Specsavers Chelmsley Wood said: “We had lots of fun raising money for Age UK, and we’re really pleased with our fundraising total.

“We want to thank everyone who donated for their generosity. It’s great to be part of such a fantastic community in Chelmsley Wood.”

Age UK relies on fundraising to deliver services dedicated to providing older people with support, care and advice, as well as campaigning for their needs and wishes.
