Open Study College donates £50,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support

A MACMILLAN nurse can be paid for a whole year thanks to Open Study College who donated £50,000 to the charity.
The donations started 2010 with a small contribution being made to the cancer charity for every student who enrolled on a course.
Now, with over 50,000 students taking courses, the donations have grown alongside, which is great news for Macmillan.
The College students have also jumped on board with further online fundraising to show their support for Macmillan.
Office cake sales are also now a regular occurrence as employees at Open Study College strive to grow the fundraising pot even further.
Samantha Rutter from Open Study College, said: “We are now one of the biggest corporate donors in the Midlands, and are delighted that the money raised will pay for a Macmillan Nurse for a whole year which will be a great help to those with cancer and their families to receive medical, practical and emotional support.
“We just wanted to say thank you to all of our employees and our wonderful students for helping us to help Macmillan.”
