THE FIRST Picnic In The Park in Olton is being held in memory of the late MP Jo Cox who was killed last year.

The Lyndon Residents Association and Solihull Council are joining forces to organise an event for The Great Get Together which is inspired by the late Labour MP.

Silhillians have been invited to come together with family and friends for the Association’s first ever Picnic In The Park family fun day in Olton’s Jubilee Park outside the Guide Hut on Brackleys Way on June 17.

From noon until 4pm and there will be plenty on offer including a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, Army activities, a cycle track event and a treasure trail around the park.

There will be a prize draw for the adults including passes to David Lloyd Leisure and Fitness First, tickets for the British Motor Museum, as well as a host of other prizes kindly donated by local Lyndon and Hobs Moat traders.
