North Solihull foodbank appeal for help finding new premises

A SOLIHULL foodbank are appealing for help locating new premises after increasing demand sees them outgrow their current space.

North Solihull Foodbank currently operate out of Smiths Wood community centre.

With an increased need of their services, they cannot fit their stock in their current premises.

Veronica Fulcher a volunteer at the foodbank said the space is now getting dangerous.

“We’re getting busier and busier, and now health and safety issues are starting to emerge.

“The room at the community centre simply isn’t big enough for the amount of people that need our help.

“We’ve been looking around the North Solihull area but have been gazumped on so many premises.

“We’re appealing for anyone that knows of a unit to let in and around North Solihull to get in touch.”

The unit would ideally need to have good public transport links, as many users of the foodbank can’t drive.

Victoria added: “We’re in a really desperate situation.

“It feels like a never-ending battle at the moment with the cost-of-living crisis, foodbank users increasing and the market moving so quickly.

“We need to find somewhere as soon as possible.”
