NOMINATIONS are now being invited for the Solihull BID Excellence Awards 2018 which celebrate the outstanding businesses and enthusiastic employees that make the town centre work.
The annual red-carpet honours town centre businesses, employees and innovation in retail, leisure, hospitality, finance and office-based businesses.
The awards are arranged by Solihull BID, the Business Improvement District for the town centre, and sponsored by BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Solihull College, Phoebus Software and Touchwood.
This year’s prestigious awards ceremony will take place at St Johns Hotel on November 22.
More than 100 entries were received for last year’s awards with judges describing the nominations as the highest standard yet.
Resuming judging duties at this year’s awards will be Solihull College and University Centre Principal John Callaghan, Eileen Schofield of Schofield and Associates, David Bradnock, Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands and Paul Brown, Director at EY.
They will be joined by consultant chef David Colcombe and town centre planning executive Ojay McDonald.
Ojay said: ““I am delighted and honoured to have been asked to take part in judging Solihull BID’s Excellence Awards.
“Recognising and rewarding excellence is a great way of fostering and nurturing talent in our town centres.”
David Colcombe is equally honoured to be a part of the Solihull BID Excellence Awards judging panel.
He said: “Solihull BID are striving to build a great town centre that recognises and nurtures the talent we have in the region. I’m therefore delighted to be involved with this year’s Excellence Awards.
“The thriving independent hospitality scene in Solihull has boomed due to increased footfall in the area, which is largely due to the hardworking attitude of some excellent apprentices who are making a real difference in many of the town’s cafes, bars and restaurants.”
