NIZLOPI lead singer Luke Concannon is bringing his solo tour for his acclaimed 2013 Give It All album to the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath on Wednesday (September 16).
The gig, which starts at 7pm, is a double headline tour with long-standing associate Jimmy Davies and will see Luke perfoming his solo tracks in his own inimmitable style.
The album was inspired by his hitchhiking mission to Palestine and has been described as soul-fired folk hip hop from the depths.
“The tour addresses everything from bereavement to Palestine to eroticism,” said Luke.
Tickets are available at: www.hareandhoundskingsheath.co.uk.
Luke and Jimmy are also holding a free songwriting workshop at the venue at 3pm on the day with all abilities welcome – and participants will get half price entry to the evening’s gig.
If you can’t make the gig then Nizlopi will be performing at the Leamington Spa Assembly on November 11.
Keep your eyes peeled for an exclusive interview ahead of the Leamington gig in which Luke will be speaking to Observer editor Chris Willmott about life with Nizlopi, life on the road, having a UK No1 single, being one of Ed Sheeran’s niggest influences and choosing a life away from record contracts and the music gravy train.
Fellow headliner Jimmy Davies has been described as making music for the world beyone Heat magazine, sepaking for a voiceless generation who long for an end to the injustices and lack of care that blight the world.
And Ed Sheeran had this to say of him: “Belief, passion, commitment, wicked vibes, great words! Brums finest.”
