A NEW management deal for two Solihull leisure centres will save over £1.4million a year, according to the council.

Everyone Active has been awarded a 10-year contract with Solihull council to deliver its leisure services.

The partnership will see the company managing North Solihull Sports Centre in Chelmsley Wood and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, Blossomfield Road, from June 1.

The council has announced Everyone Active will invest £1million in the first year of the partnership.

The leisure management company brings 30 years of expertise and hopes to revolutionise the centres.

The company has said it will support the council’s vision of delivering high quality leisure facilities and will work closely together to enhance the existing leisure facilities and improve the customer experience.

The council says the aim of the partnership is to ensure the facilities offer a flexible and innovative approach and encourage more residents to take part in physical activity more often.

The council’s cabinet member for resources and delivering value, Robert Hulland, said: “Following an extensive procurement process, I am delighted to welcome Everyone Active aboard. Not only has this saved the Council around £1.4million per year, but Everyone Active is committed to investing £1million in their first year with us so we are saving money and increasing our leisure offer to residents.”

David Bibby, managing director of Everyone Active, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by the council to use our extensive skills and experience to get more people active.

“Both centres have fantastic facilities and we hope to continue to build upon their success to fulfil the council’s vision.

“We have extensive experience of managing community facilities across the country, including in a number of neighbouring districts, and look forward to bringing the same high-standard services to Solihull.”

As part of the contract, all existing staff at the centres will be kept on by Everyone Active.
