Solihull Editorial 25th Feb, 2024   0

A NEW chief nurse has been appointed at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).

Lisa Stalley-Green has landed the role of executive director of quality and safety – chief nurse – at the trust following a rigorous selection process.

Lisa is already familiar with BSMHFT in her role of deputy chief executive and chief nursing officer at the Integrated Care Board.

With a focus on reducing health inequalities and working in partnership across Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System, Lisa has led improvements in safeguarding partnerships and practice as executive lead for quality, patient experience, workforce, and infrastructure.

Lisa also leads on anti-racism in professional practice and chairs the West Midlands Regional Global Majority Improvement Group.

During her 20-year career in the NHS, she has been in roles across A&E, community services, prison health, commissioning, and acute services.

Lisa said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the Trust and I’m looking forward to working with and learning from new colleagues.

“I’m proud to have grown my career in Birmingham and Solihull and I know I’m joining an organisation that has great things going for it and I’m looking forward to working more closely with patients and service users.

“I’d like to thank colleagues across the system and at the Integrated Care Board for all of their support. It’s been great to be part of establishing a new organisation and a pleasure to lead the system’s nursing community. I hope to build on this and will play an active role in our system’s nursing community from within the Trust.”

BSMHFT added a thanks to Steve Forsyth for his valued contributions and commitment during his time as chief nurse and wanted to wish him well for the future and every success in his new role at Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
