SOLIHULL Community Housing (SCH) has appointed Fiona Hughes as its new Chief Executive.

Fiona, who has held the role of Chief of Operations for the past two years, said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this role and to lead such a vibrant and ambitious organisation as Solihull Community Housing.

“Solihull is a terrific place to live, work and study. Our staff have always worked hard to deliver the highest possible quality of service to our customers and as the new SCH Chief Executive I will continue to set these goals in the months and years ahead.

“We have charted an ambitious Future Strategic Vision which will guide us through the next five years, refocusing our resources to enable us to respond more effectively to the challenges that lie ahead, whilst at the same time helping Solihull Council to achieve its own priorities.

“While acknowledging that we are operating in challenging economic times, I am confident that we can continue to develop and maintain properties in Solihull that our customers will be proud to call their home.”

Fiona has spent most of her career working in the West Midlands, joining SCH in 2014 from Birmingham City Council.

The Chief Executive of Solihull Council, Nick Page, welcomed the news.

He said: “I am very pleased about Fiona’s appointment following her interim period and I look forward to working alongside her in the years to come.

“I am confident she will strive to deliver a high quality service and improve the lives of our residents.”
