Murder investigation launched after woman found dead in Chelmsley Wood

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Chelmsley Wood.

Officers were called to Coralin Close, Chelmsley Wood, at around 1.25am today (April 6).

A 51-year-old was pronounced dead a short time after.

Police say she had a number of injuries, and a post-mortem will take place in due course to establish the cause of death.




A 73-year-old man who was also at the address was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was taken ill at the scene and remains in hospital undergoing assessment this morning.


Detective inspector Caroline Corfield, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic case and our thoughts are with the family affected.

“We are treating this as an isolated domestic incident, and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
