Murder investigation launched after man run over in Sheldon car park

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was run over in a Sheldon car park.

Police were called to reports of disorder on the car park of Halfords on Coventry Road on April 9 just before midnight.

West Midlands Police said: “We arrived to find a 20-year-old man under a white VW Golf, after having apparently been run over.

“He had serious head injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Members of the public detained a 25-year-old man at the scene and he was then arrested on suspicion of murder.”

Police officers remained at the scene over the weekend to carry out investigations and recover CCTV.

The victims family are being supported by trained officers and a post-mortem is being held.
