MEMBERS of Parliament for the West Midlands came together to support of their pre-hospital emergency service, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
The parliamentary reception was hosted by longstanding supporter of the charity, Wendy Morton MP for Aldridge-Brownhills, and took place at the House of Commons.
The occasion provided MPs from across the region, including Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP for Solihull West and Shirley, an insight into the county’s primary air ambulance organisation.
More than 25 MPs learned about the advanced clinical care, medicines and equipment brought rapidly to scene within just ten minutes, which gives those in critical need the best chance of survival and a good recovery.
They also took part in CPR demonstrations, met with two of the charity’s former patients, and found out about the region’s hospital helipad network, which is vital in enabling patients to be swiftly conveyed to the most appropriate hospital for their needs.
