NEWS that services are set to return to Kingshurst Post Office on September 24 have been welcomed by local MP Saqib Bhatti.
Services closed temporarily in August 2020 but now the post office, located in The Parade, will operate from the same location within Browns Pharmacy.
“I know the people of Kingshurst will join me in celebrating the return of this essential amenity,” said Mr Bhatti.
“Before its closure in August 2020, the Kingshurst post office provided residents with a vital hub for services.
“Many constituents contacted me about the need to reopen it, so I am really pleased this vital service has been restored to the community.
“Alongside Solihull Council’s £34million plans to renew Kingshurst town centre, I am keen for the area to become a hub for the local community and a post office is essential for that.”
The Leader of Solihull Council, Councillor Ian Courts added: “Solihull Council are absolutely committed to regenerating Kingshurst town centre.
“The post office plays a vital role in the community. As we embark on our exciting renewal programme, a post office for local people is key.”
