MP's delight as entries flood in for Christmas card design contest

Solihull Editorial 22nd Dec, 2020   0

MERIDEN MP Saqib Bhatti’s Christmas Card Competition, open to all primary schools in the constituency, received close to 500 entries.

Describing himself as ‘stunned and delighted by the talent, enthusiasm and creativity’ the MP said: “With so many fantastic card designs,

my wife and I found it extremely difficult to pick winner.

“Every entry had its own charm and I want to thank each and every student who participated in the competition.

“2020 has been challenging for all of us and it is important to remember that children have been impacted by Covid-19 in different ways.

“Many entries featured Covid-19 and made reference to lockdown restrictions, but it was heartwarming to see the same entries using positivity and creativity as a solution.”

There could only be one winner though, Loren from Windy Arbour School with a fantastic drawing of a Christmas tree and an inspirational message.

Bhatti has also written to each participant thanking them for their entry and wishing them and their family a Merry Christmas and a

Happy New Year.
