MP backs community-led campaign for new playground in Knowle Park

Solihull Editorial 2nd Sep, 2020   0

Saqib Bhatti MP is putting his backing behind the latest community-led project for a new playground in Knowle Park.

Following a community consultation which saw 600 respondents provide feedback on the plans, the hope is that the new playground will be in place by April 2021 with provisions for toddlers and older children.

Saqib Bhatti MP said: “I am thrilled to see plans for a new playground coming to life and I am really impressed by the dedication of Alistair Innes and the Knowle Society.

“The park is an important part of our community in Knowle and families and children will make memories in this playground for many years to come.”

Community project leader Alistair Innes added: “Currently we have a playground which is limited in age range and has not had significant investment since 2007. The community has grown significantly since then and now with Covid-19 we want to see local outdoor facilities that families can enjoy in the fresh air.

“This is a positive project that we are hoping the whole community can get behind.”

You can meet the project team and see the plans in the Knowle Park on the 12th of September from 12 to 4pm.
