PUZZLED motorists jumped to the rescue to catch a sheep on the loose earlier today.

The sheep was caught running down the Stratford Road, towards the M42 Island, around 11am.

George Sylvester, from Solihull, said: “I thought there was an unusual amount of traffic for the time of day, but I just assumed it was a car accident.

“As I got closer to the lights near Tesco, I saw a McDonalds employee and a young lad in a motorcycle helmet running towards the island.

“When the traffic started moving I didn’t expect to find a group of people chasing a loose sheep down the road towards oncoming traffic.

“It was a surreal start to the day.”

Police were called to the scene.
