BANK WORKERS are set to lend a paw at Birmingham Dog’s Home over the next 12 months.

Metro Bank stores across the region, including the Solihull branch, will sponsor one of the dog kennels at the 125-year-old

charity.

As well as raising funds to help the work at the Catherine-De-Barnes and the Wolverhampton kennels keep going colleagues from the branches will be rolling up their sleeves and volunteer at the home too.

Metro Bank local director, Lee Currier, said: “We have always been a dog friendly company and we are proud to be able to support such a fantastic charity that does so much to make the lives of dogs better

“We know there is a link between dogs becoming ill and being given up to charities as the cost of healthcare is expensive.

“More than three million homes in the UK have got a new pet during the pandemic and we recently launched pet insurance to help dog owners manage the cost of their pet’s healthcare needs, but we wanted to do more to help – hence our sponsorship of the kennel which will help care for hundreds of dogs as they return to health and hopefully find a new forever home.”

Fi Harrison, head of fundraising at Birmingham Dogs Home said Metro Bank is enabling them to carry on vital work to rescue and rehome abandoned dogs.
