Meriden MP reveals Christmas card competition winner

Solihull Editorial 11th Dec, 2022   0

MERIDEN MP, Saqib Bhatti, has announced the winners of his Christmas card competition.

This year almost 500 entries from 10 different primary schools across the constituency were handed in leaving Mr Bhatti having to make a difficult choice.

The winner of this year’s competition was Shlok Sheshabhatter, aged 8, with a fantastic drawing of Father Christmas and his reindeer.

Shlok also received a letter from Saqib Bhatti congratulating him on his win.

Writing in the letter, Saqib said: “I received so many wonderful entries and it has been extremely difficult to pick just one submission to win.

“However, your drawing of Father Christmas and his reindeer was very impressive, and I knew your entry would look fantastic on the front of a Christmas card.”

Mr Bhatti took the winning design to the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

Mr Bhatti added: “The standard of entries last year was incredibly high but this year, I was absolutely blown away by the level of talent shown by the pupils.

“I really enjoy this time of year and running this competition always gets me in the Christmas spirit.

“Every year, there is such an amazing response to this competition from the schools in the Meriden constituency.”

Following the announcement of the winner, he has written to each participant thanking them for their entry and wishing them and their family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
