A MEN’S mental health walking group will be stepping out for a marathon trek.
Solihull’s Men’s Walking and Talking Group are set to complete eight varied laps around the borough over eight hours, with those going the full distance covering the equivalent of a marathon.
A team of dedicated individuals from our Solihull group will Together the group is aiming to reach a collective distance of 1,000 kilometres between 8am and 4pm on November 29.
The Mason’s Arms, will be the group’s base for the day, where there will be a support team will be stationed there to welcome walkers, track progress, and keep spirits high throughout the challenge.
It will also be the start and finish line for each lap.
Writing on the Go Fund Me page Danny Smith, leader of the Solihull group, said: “Not everyone will complete the full distance, but every participant will play a vital part in this monumental team effort — raising valuable funds that will go directly toward supporting men’s mental health across the MWAT network.
“We’d love for local residents to come along and cheer us on — especially at the finish line at 4pm. Your encouragement means the world, but what truly makes the difference are your donations. Every contribution helps us reach more men who need someone to walk and talk with.”
So far the group has raised more than £2,500 for the MWAT network.
