THE SUN played its part as young Silhillians pulled out their trainers and got active over the bank holiday weekend.
In a bid to inspire youngsters to be more active Mell Square brought its free kids club – Mini Mells – back on Saturday (August 24) as part of the Nation’s Biggest Sports Day.
The Solihull town centre shopping centre joined forces with The Bugs Group to host free fun football and dance session for children between three and 12.
Youngsters’ footballing skills were challenged with dribbling exercises and one even hit the back of the net.
Speaking before the event Lisa Applebee, bugs group general manager, said: “We are always keen to be involved in local community events and we are delighted to be involved in Mini Mells for a second year.”
The Nation’s Biggest Sports Day was created by a national campaign I am Team GB which aims to harness the power of the Olympics to make Britain more active.
