VIEWS are being sought on how to ensure the future of the Acocks Green carnival.
Having been part of the community calendar for more than 40 years, organisers are calling out for more volunteers to join the ranks to ensure the carnival takes place in 2017 and beyond.
The Big Lottery has awarded the carnival a grant to explore the challenges of how to fund the event in these times of austerity, whether its current structure is working, and whether the small number of volunteers can take on all the responsibilities.
The first free development session is being held tonight (Thursday) from 7pm until 9pm at Acocks Green Methodist Church.
Any individual who has an interest in Acocks Green – as a resident, local charity or community organiser, and former attendee of the carnival – is encouraged to attend.
Refreshments will be provided.
