SOLIHULL’S Mayor, Councillor Shahin Ashraf shared her journey in leadership with schoolgirls as part of International Women’s Day celebrations.
The Mayor visited Lyndon School to deliver an assembly to year 10 pupils encouraging them to believe in their potential.
The school said her words were especially powerful for female learners, leaving them feeling motivated and empowered.
Following the assembly, a group of Key Stage 3 learners visited the Mayor’s Parlour to find out more about leadership, local government, and the importance of representation.
Syreeta Kapswara, Principal of Lyndon School, said: “We were honoured to welcome the Mayor of Solihull to our school. Her visit was an invaluable experience for our learners, particularly our young women, who left feeling truly inspired.
“Encouraging ambition and confidence is at the heart of what we do, and this was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to see leadership in action.”
