Masked men steal tools from a van in Solihull

MASKED men have stolen expensive tools from a van in Solihull.

A post on the Lyndon Residents Association Facebook page said the incident took place on May 10 at around 3.30pm on Kimberley Road, Olton.

Several other posts on the group have raised the alarm about car crime with several vehicles allegedly being stolen in the Olton and Lyndon area in the last few days.

The Facebook post from resident Keith Hamilton states: “We have had a report of a theft from a white VW panel van.




“Two offenders wearing balaclavas have approached the van and gained accessed by unknown means (may have been left unlocked/open), once inside they have stolen drills, a saw, radio and various other tools.

“The offenders have then made off in a light blue possibly silver Ford Focus Ghia registration AX05 FRC.


“If this vehicle is seen please use West Midlands Live chat or call 101, if you believe this vehicle is about to commit another crime then please dial 999.”

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating the theft of tools from a van that was parked outside an address on Kimberley Road.

“Various tools were taken from the van sometime between 3.30pm and 10.30pm.

“Officers have been in the area today checking for any CCTV or witnesses. If you have any information relating to this incident again please use West Midlands live chat or call 101 and quote crime reference number 20SH/11152Y/19
