Marie Curie's Brain Game back in Birmingham after two year break

Solihull Editorial 21st Aug, 2022   0

SOLIHULL businesses are being called on to bring their quizzers together and help raise funds for Marie Curie.

The annual West Midlands Brain Game is back after a two year break due to the pandemic – and organisers are keen to get more donations than ever.

In 2019 more than £154,000 was raised for the end of life charity, which has a hospice in Marsh Lane, when 50 businesses in finance, legal, and construction pitted their wits against each other.

Organisers of the anticipated black-tie evening have confirmed it will be returning to The ICC Birmingham on September 22.

Coreen Astle, operations director at the Solihull hospice, said: “We are delighted the West Midlands Brain Game is returning to the region in 2022 and each year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the guests who raise a huge amount to help people living with a terminal illness in the region.

“In addition to the wide range of medical, nursing, therapy and support services delivered from the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull we deliver Marie Curie Nursing Services across the whole of the Midlands.

“There are 30 services delivered in total, providing day and night care according to the individual and their family’s need.

“We are there to help those at the end of their life and to support their families through what can be a very difficult period. The funds raised at the Brain Game will help us to continue this vital work.”

The night offers a dazzling reception, three-course meal and the highly competitive celebrity hosted quiz for money-can’t-buy prizes. There is also both a live and silent auction for some truly one-of-a-kind items and experiences.

Businesses can get involved by taking a table, providing sponsorship or donating an auction prize.

Prices for tables of 10 start from £2,000.
