THE gardens at Solihull’s Marie Curie hospice are bursting with colour ready to welcome visitors.

Volunteer gardeners will be on hand between 11am and 4pm on June 22 to show visitors around and answer any questions as part of the National Garden Scheme.

They will also be discussing the work of Marie Curie in the community.

Do Connolly, who has been volunteering in the garden at the hospice in Marsh Lane, Solihull since it opened in 2013 said: “The patient rooms at the hospice are all arranged around the gardens giving easy access to both patients and their families and are such an important part of the hospice.

“Our team of 27 volunteers have been working hard throughout the year to ensure the garden is looking beautiful and full of colour and provide a peaceful space for our patients, families, staff, and volunteers to enjoy.”

Visitors can buy something for their own garden from the plant stall, try their luck at the tombola and enjoy other activities.

Refreshments will be available to purchase and there will be free activities for children.

The Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands in Solihull offers in-patient care, a Support and Wellbeing Hub, specialist care at home and bereavement support to adults, children and young people.

Entry to the gardens costs £4 per person (children free) and tickets can be purchased in advance here or in person on the day.
