Solihull Editorial 18th Jun, 2023   0

THE DELIGHTFUL gardens at the Marie Curie West Midlands Hospice in Solihull will be open to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme.

From 11am until 4pm on June 25 volunteer gardeners will be on hand at the Marsh Lane hospice to show visitors around and answer any questions.

The patient rooms at the hospice are all arranged around the gardens giving easy access to both patients and their families.

Do Connolly from Solihull who has been volunteering in the garden at the hospice since it opened at the Marsh Lane site in 2013 said: “The gardens are such an important part of the hospice, they give a peaceful space for our patients, families, staff, and volunteers to enjoy and spend some time with nature.

“Our team of 21 volunteers have been working hard the last few months to ensure the garden is looking beautiful and full of colour, and we hope the public will visit and enjoy some of our delicious homemade cakes.”

Marie Curie’s partnership with the National Garden Scheme (NGS) has raised over £10.5million for the charity in the 27 years of partnership helping the charity to provide care and support to people living with terminal illnesses, and their families.

Entry costs £4 per person and tickets can be purchased in advanced here or on the door.
