A MAN has been left in a coma after an attack in a Yardley pub.

The 68-year-old suffered five broken ribs and a punctured lung before he was rushed to hospital following the incident, which took place about 11pm on February 25 in the Clumsy Swan pub, on Stoney Lane.

He has since been placed in a medically-induced coma and is currently in a serious but stable condition.

Det Cons Katie Lees said they were eager to establish the circumstances of what happened and wanted to hear from anyone with information.

She added: “We know there were a number of people in the pub at the time and are asking anyone who hasn’t already spoken to us to come forward to help with inquiries.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
