A MAN who threw his girlfriend from a Chelmsley Wood tower block has been jailed.
Jordan Herring was found guilty of wounding following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court in January.
The 22-year-old was also previously convicted of coercive and controlling behaviour towards the same woman.
Herring threw his girlfriend from the fourth floor of Merton House, Chelmsley Wood, in November 2022.
Emergency services were not called to help the 18-year-old for an hour, but she was airlifted to hospital with a collapsed lung, fractures to her pelvis and ribs.
Herring claimed she jumped out of the window but thankfully, due to her bravery, the police’s Public Protection Unit were able to support her, and Herring was later arrested and charged.
Herring, of Lark Meadow Drive, Solihull, was jailed for a total of five years for wounding, and coercive and controlling behaviour.
West Midlands Police have continued to support the woman throughout the ordeal and commend her bravery in speaking about the abuse she suffered.
